Teacher In-Service Training

Effective Language Learning Student & Teacher Workshops
At Viva La Vida, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing sustainable development via cultural diversity and language education; but not every child yet understands the importance of learning another language and how it can propel their future.
Through our “mastery & empowerment workshops,” in conjunction with our immersion programs, we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.
This initiative helps get students excited about learning languages, builds confidence, and helps students understand what culture is and how to fully absorb different cultures by asking the right questions and being more understanding of what culture means.

The Founder & The Mission
Education, Enrichment, Growth
Viva La Vida founder, Jessica, was the first she knew of (and conducted much research to ascertain this) to use the concept of education through “Travel Immersion,” and the first use and hashtag the term “travel immersion.” She found that utilizing this hands-on educational approach helps connect the idea of immersing oneself in a country with education, growth, and real-life application. Her multicultural background, travels as a Navy child, living on-and-off in Europe for over a decade, and her extreme passion for experiencing cultures and languages as one of the locals, led her to create this massive mission of educating young people through culture, languages, and travel.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics/Italian and Pre-Dental/Biology at the University of Texas, she embarked on a global research journey revolving around these major questions: How and where are foreign languages learned most and least effective? Why? She’s traveled across the globe learning everything possible about language acquisition and effectiveness and put together all of her programs reflecting her results.
Her workshops help educators teach languages more effectively through innovative, up-to-date methods, and is most efficient when paired with her student seminars which focuses on the importance of language learning, and how it can expand their careers and life opportunities. Learning how to get around the globe with 10 languages mostly self-taught, enables her to teach others how to do so. She strives daily to improve the current state of language learning in America, through her teacher in-service seminars and empowerment student workshops. At Viva La Vida we envision a world where cultural diversity is appreciated for sustainable development, and where young people embrace that expansion of one’s mind equals expansion of success in global job markets and within oneself.
